One Zero Five: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

One Zero Five:  A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Recorded April 21, 2019

We do not mince words.  This may be one of the best Game of Thrones episodes of the entire series.

Episode 2 of season 8 is classic Thrones in every way.  The calm literally before the storm that has been building for multiple seasons.  It is quiet and moving and funny and sad and hopeful and ominous and truly something special.

Enjoy.

Episode One Zero Three: Almost a One Shot

Recorded 4/7/2019

Two episodes in one month!  What is this madness?!

Your faithful BrothersGeek bring you a Game of Thrones retrospective.  We recap the most recent season in preparation of the premiere of the final season on 4/14/2019.  We discuss our favorite scenes from seasons past, we muse on our favorite quiet, character moments, and we discuss our hopes for the final episodes.  Chris and Patrick debate the most recent season’s perceived “failings”.  Andrew shares his plans for the season 8 premiere and he hopes he doesn’t upset anyone who might be listening.

We discuss Avengers: Endgame hopes and our plans (or lack thereof) to watch the film on opening weekend.

Chris and Patrick have high hopes for the patch Anthem dropping on 4/8.

Trivia is Game of Thrones themed, because of course it is.

One Zero Two: Happy Terra-zoid Hatching Day!

We have returned!  After our longest hiatus on record (it might not be but who keeps track), we are back and we behave mostly the same as before.  A very special episode as we record on Christopher’s birthday!  He tells his birth story and it is definitely as weird as you would expect.  The brothers talk Captain Marveland disagree, respectfully, on the film’s quality.  We talk Avengers: Endgame‘s market campaign and lament the state of geek culture.  Andrew and Chris anticipate the newest novel in James S.A. Corey’s Expanse series.  All three of us feel certain ways about Anthem for the Xbox One.  Chris is reading Marjorie Lui’s MonstressVolume 3. Patrick is reading Robert Kirkman’s Oblivion Song and all three are waiting with high hopes for Game of Thrones season 8.

Trivia is 2018 Box Office Themed and leaves the Boys surprised.

Be Curious, it is Christopher’s birthday wish!

Happy New Year!  Your boys are back and we are off and running into the future.  We start this episode with an in-depth discussion on creating new content for your enjoyment.  We look forward to big events coming this year. 2019 might just be the most incredible year for geek-dom ever. We dig into the new Spider-man: Far From Home trailer and what it means for the future of the MCU.  We are encouraged by the latest casting news for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films.  Patrick has undertaken an epic re-watch of Joss Whedon’s seminal series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Brothers all commit to playing Anthem at its release. And Chris debuts a new sign off.
Trivia is future themed. And it’s a success.

Ninety Nine: The One Before The Milestone

Episode Ninety-Nine: The One before the Milestone

Recorded 12/15/2018

This episode we say goodbye to a man who helped shape popular culture.  We fondly reflect on the legacy of the great Stan Lee and what he meant especially to our childhoods.  Fittingly, we dissect the Captain Marvel and Avengers Endgame trailers. (See the links below.)  We hype numerous holiday movie releases, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-VerseBumblebee and Aquaman just to name a handful. We bid farewell to Netflix’s Daredevil.  Patrick is reading a classic of “Hero” literature.  Andrew is enjoying the final book in the First Law trilogy and Chris convinces the other two to give The Passage a read through.  Andrew is playing through The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One and that triggers all kinds of Halonostalgia.  If you don’t know what a LAN party is, look it up.  Patrick is dissatisfied with the newest Fallout game, and he is worried it will only get worse.  Christopher absolutely loves the wild fun of the newest Forza racing game.  True to family form, his favorite car to drive is a classic but updated version of a Ford Mustang.

Trivia is brought to you buy the wonderful mind-bending Christopher Nolan heist movie Inception.  And the boys nail it!

Ninety Eight: Almost a Milestone Episode

Episode Ninety-Eight: Almost a Milestone Episode

Recorded 10/27/2018

We record on a Saturday morning.  One of us is hung over, can you guess which?  We geek out hard on Star Trek TNG.  The nostalgia is flying around and gets everywhere.  We talk about Daredevil Season 3 and our hot takes are heated.  Andrew challenges Christopher.  Patrick is elbows deep in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The game has invaded his brain.  He’s probably thinking about it right now.  Andrew is reading book 2 of The First Law Trilogy and it continues to scratch his itch for high quality fantasy fiction.  Chris anticipates one of our returning favorites comics with Montress Volume 3.  If you haven’t read Monstress Volumes 1 and 2, what have you been doing with our life?

Trivia is Batman The Animated Series themed.

Ninety Seven:Is This Thing On?

Episode Ninety-Seven: Is This Thing On?

Recorded on October 1st 2018

This episode sees the return of our nemesis, Technical Difficulties!

We soldier on and our discussion is high quality.  We examine the now proven conspiracy that is The Last Jedi Hate Cult.  We talk Netflix’s animated series The Dragon Prince.  We hoped for something more Avatar: The Last Airbender but we got something more “tropey”.  We have all finishedIron Fist and while it was a vast improvement over season 1, we lament that the series won’t just go for it and let Danny Rand be the badass we know he is capable of being.  Andrew is reading the new Robert Galbraith mystery, Lethal White.  Christopher is excited for Monstress volume 3 and Patrick continues to play lots of Overwatch.  Andrew and Chris are almost overwhelmed with the sheer number of things to do in Destiny 2: Forsaken.  No trivia question this week, Technical Difficulties wins a minor victory.
