Eighty Five: N*pple Management Routine

Episode Eighty-Five: N*pple Management Routine

Recorded 1/8/2018

Happy New Year!  We missed you!  We make resolutions (some of us).  We discuss half marathon prep (one of us is running one soon) and it gets very descriptive.  We catch up on what movies we saw in theaters, what shows we marathoned and what old favorites we re-watched over the Holiday break.  We discuss what makes a film series a trilogy and what can reasonably be declared the Greatest Trilogy of All Time.  Andrew is devouring the latest book in The Expanse series, Persepolis Rising.  Patrick has re-discovered his love of Path of Exile.  He will be streaming much more of it on Twitch in the coming year.  Christopher resolves to complete Divinity: Original Sin.

Trivia is box office themed and The Boys struggle.

Eighty four: The 2017 Christmas Special

Episode Eighty-Four: Our Christmas Special

Recorded 12/25/2017

We record in Andrew’s apartment on Christmas Day.  We talk long and hard about Star Wars The Last Jedi.  We spoil almost everything.  If you haven’t seen it, go see it, and come back to us.  We discuss our favorite things we saw, played and read this year.  We could talk for hours and hours about all the things we liked this year and we nearly do. Each Brother gives us his hopes for the coming year and beyond.  And we make a resolution! We will record two episodes a month!  We promise!  (Please don’t hate us if we can’t live up to our promises, like Andrew Garfield said in Amazing Spider-Man, making promises you can’t keep are the best kind).

Trivia is Christmas themed!

From all the BrothersGeek to all our dear Listeners, have a safe and happy Holiday Season and see you all in 2018!

Eighty Three: The One Before The Brothers see The Last Jedi

Eighty-Three: The One Before the Brothers see The Last Jedi.

Recorded 12/6/2017

Hello everyone and welcome back to our podcast!  We catch up after weeks of not talking to each other, like at all.  Christopher is a little salty about this and he calls Patrick out.  We overcome technical issues.  This podcast is NOT SPONSORED by SKYPE.  We work on a new platform and things are much improved.  We talk Justice League.  We talk the CW Arrow-verse Crossover event.  And which was better, and you might be surprised how it comes out.   Our Not Ugly Award goes to Jason Momoa.  Congratulations Aquaman!  We, again, sing the praises of Marjorie Liu’s and Sana Takeda’s Montress.  Christopher plans on recommending it for book club.  We plan on lots more play in Destiny 2 now that the Curse of Osiris DLC has dropped.

We have all made plans for to see Star Wars The Last Jedi the week of release.  We are literally vibrating with excitement.

Our trivia is Star Wars themed.  Christopher ALMOST pulls it off, Rain Man style.

Our next episode will be our In-Person Holiday Year End Review!

Eighty Two: We Battle Internet Demigorgons

Episode Eighty-Two: We Battle Internet Demigorgons.

Recorded 11/5/2017

We are back and we are struggling this episode.  We throw the rule book out the window and we just talk but we cover all manner of topics.  We talk about the truly goofy Thor: Ragnarok.  We think it is good fun and a nice departure from what the Thor movies have been in the past.  Each brother has finished Stranger Things 2.  Nostalgia runs thick and fast as we discuss worked, what didn’t and what was truly dumb.  The good far outweighs the bad of season 2 of the Netflix original.  We pause a discussion ofThe Orville and Star Trek Discovery until both have finished their first seasons.  Patrick and Christopher are on the fence of the newly announced World of Warcraft expansion “Battle of Azeroth”.  Neither brother is sure it will draw them back in.

No trivia this episode because nothing seems to go right.

Eighty One: The Two in One Episode

Episode Eighty-One: The Two in One Episode

Recorded 10/12/2017.

We are focused on two very special happenings in this episode.  Well, we are mostly focused.  We wouldn’t be us if we didn’t go off topic and “Syndrome” just a little bit.  We discuss the towering cinematic experience of Blade Runner 2049.  We are effusive in our praise and exacting in our criticism of this tremendous film.

On 10/9, during Monday Night Football, the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiered.  It gave us so much to chew on.  So much new footage to ponder. So many new images to dissect. So many new theories to construct.  What is most certain is that each of the Brothers will be counting down the days until December 15th!

A question from Legendary Listener Shawn caps off the episode.  A piece of movie magic is explained.

Seventy Nine: We labor on Labor Day

Recorded 9/4/2017

We record in the daylight again!

We feel the impending release of a little game called Destiny 2.  Chris and Andrew will be playing as soon as it launches in our time zone. Patrick is less likely to play at launch as Path of Exile is consuming nearly all of his attention. We all discuss season 7 of Game of Thrones in its entirety. We dissect just what was done right and what could have been done better.  And now our long watch begins for the final season.  It is expected in 2019!  Andrew makes a declaration regarding fantasy novels.  He finishes (finally) Murder on the Orient Express and he finds the ending delightful.  Patrick is reading Descender on Christopher’s recommendation.  Christopher has begun Monstress Vol. 2 and it continues to enchant.

In honor of the original Destiny, trivia is unique and is very personal

Seventy Eight: Hacked Spoiler Free Zone

Seventy-Eight: Hacked Spoiler Free zone

Recorded 8/20/2017

We bring the SeenReadPlayed strong this episode. We talk online piracy and it’s real world consequences.  Surprisingly, Andrew makes a compelling argument on something important.  We expound on The Defenders and Game of Thrones.  Andrew discovers fun articles posted by a favorite Twitter feed.  Patrick devours Mystery on the Orient Express.  Chris prepares to read Monstress Vol. 2 as soon as Andrew returns Vol. 1.  Patrick and Christopher play Path of Exile.  The Brothers will all download and play with a Legendary Listener when the Xbox One version drops this week.  Chris continues to love Civilization 6, seeking peaceful coexistence with neighboring nations.  Andrew updates Star Wars Battlefront and struggles through its “Survival” game mode.

Trivia is Oscar themed and turns out to be quite educational.

Seventy Seven: Disagreements, Arguments, and Internet Goblins

Episode Seventy-Seven: Disagreements, Arguments, and Internet Goblins

Recorded 8/1/2017

The Brothers Geek are extra Geeky and extra Brother-y this episode.  We recap the most interesting content from San Diego Comic Con.  We hope for the very best with the first trailer for Ready Player One and a new trailer for Justice League points to the DCEU finally getting the FUN.  We can’t agree on the first 3 episodes of Game of Thrones.  Chris and Patrick have seen Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and encourage Andrew to see it. But there isn’t any rush.  We each sing a celebratory chorus about the magnificence that is Dunkirk.  Chris and Andrew convince Patrick to read Murder on the Orient Express.  Chris as two different games of Civilization 6 going on.  Patrick plays Fortnite and has to explain what that is to Andrew and Christopher.  Andrew plays Cup Pong on GamePigeon and laments that it isn’t real beer pong.  Chris admits he has never played beer pong and Andrew questions if he actually went to college.

Trivia is Agatha Christie themed and is impossible.

Episode Seventy-Six: Patrick’s covered in Poo Water.

Recorded 7/10/2017

The Brothers are back!  Back in their respective cities and back to work!  We all saw Baby Driver and Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Surprise, surprise, each of us have strong opinions about both films.  Chris is undertaking a complete re-watch of Game of Thrones before the new season starts up. Netflix has premiered a Castlevania animated series and Chris is hooked. Patrick is reading an intriguing mix of noir, magic and economics with The Black Monday Murders. He is also working to be current on Invincible.  Andrew has stagnated on American Gods.  He is very excited for the upcoming film adaptation of Murder on The Orient Express (check out the trailer below) and has begun that classic and will finish before the movie is released in November.  Christopher charges ahead with Rat Queens.  We all download the free to play Marvel Heroes Omega.  An action RPG that could easily empty our wallets if we let it.  Chris lays down some coin and buys Black Panther.  He has no regrets.

Trivia is Game of Thrones themed!  The new season premieres July 16th!

Winter is here!

Seventy Five: We have been pronouncing “Gadot” incorrectly for years.

Episode Seventy-Five: We have been pronouncing “Gadot” incorrectly for years.

Recorded 6/5/2017

Words fail to express how excited we are to be recording again!  Well, at least two of us are.  One of us gets very annoyed rather quickly.  We talk about all the things.  We talk Wonder Woman.  We give the actress from Israel who plays her the coveted “Not Ugly Award” and we learn how to pronounce her name correctly.  Here’s a hint, she isn’t French.  Chris learns the correct way to pronounce a book title has been reading for weeks and he spends some money at our local comic book store.  Patrick recommends The Flintstones comic book.  Really, he does.  We talk American Gods, the version on screen and in print.  Patrick returns to Fallout Shelter because he can play it on set.  Andrew has high hopes for Destiny 2 following the reveal.  Chris continues his relationship with World of Warcraft.  Only his wife has been around longer than his WoW character, Atreidian.  He does spend some time with the Witcher 3 when Atreidian isn’t looking.

Also, Andrew says “bananas” too much about this trailer for Baby Driver.

Trivia is Wonder Woman themed and it is a failure.
