Episode One Four Zero: Ghouls are the Funnest Undead
Recorded May 24th 2020
Miss us? We missed you. We spend a substantial portion of this episode discussing the difference between a ghoul and a zombie. We clear everything up and reach a consensus. Patrick is deep into Dungeon Mastering and he is loving every second of it. Andrew re-watches Avatar The Last Airbender and it is still (maybe) the best animated series of all time and certainly can boast that its series finale is perfection. Chris geeks out over new Gloomhaven paraphernalia he assembles with his own two hands. We, of course, discuss the pandemic’s effects on geek culture and we hope you are all staying safe.

Your favorite weekly podcast is back! With an episode jampacked with geekery. Chris gives a glowing review to the premier episode of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. He is excited for deep dive in Mexican Folklore this season will provide his culturally curious brain. Andrew and Patrick consider the added cost of adding Showtime Anytime to their monthly streaming expense. Andrew (and his significant other) have undertaken a complete re-watch of Battlestar Galactica. Andrew hasn’t watched season 1 of BSG since its original run 15 years ago so everything kind of feels new again. Patrick (and his significant other) have undertaken a re-watch of the Harry Potter movie franchise. His S/O has managed to go her entire adult life without the movies being spoiled. Andrew and Chris are baffled at this reality.
Trivia is Skywalker Saga themed in honor of Episode IX hitting Disney+ and Patrick is victorious!

This episode is a first, maybe the first of many. We watch this fantastic historical fiction epic. We three love this film for a myriad of reasons and we discuss nearly all of them as we watch together (via Discord) and record our conversation. Chris has read the 20+ books of Patrick O’Brien’s series and he does the heavy lifting for historical context. If you have suggestions for future BrothersGeekWatch episodes, be sure to let us know!
