SPOILERS.  ALL OF THEM.  IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE.  GO SEE IT.  YOU ARE THE LAST ONE.
The most anticipated movie ever is released.  And we react to it, (obviously). Our theories are confirmed and exploded.  We share our viewing stories.  We report the news of its release and we share our hopes for the re-launched and reinvigorated franchise.  We record in the same room and 2/3rds of us are drinking.  We feel we have been building to this since our podcast launched.  This is quite the memorable episode.

Episode Forty Seven: 2 Days, 22 hours, 43 minutes and 15 seconds from now….
Recorded 12/14/2015.
We read an email from listener Chris Scott, he has some interesting things to say about our Star Wars Trailer One Shot.
Seen:
We all have watched the first episode of “The Expanse” through various channels. Episode 2 will air on 12/16.  We all love the books and can’t wait to see if the series get’s it right.  It has the potential to be “Battlestar Galactica” good.
The “Flash/Arrow” crossover is high quality and launches the “Legends of Tomorrow“ well.
“Arrow” is all over the place.  Almost terrible right now.  Even Stephen Amell’s Not Ugliness isn’t saving it.
Read:
Andrew reads “Nemesis Games” FINALLY the plot gets moving
Christopher reports on “Childhood’s End”.  It is Arthur C. Clarke’s masterpiece.  And he wrote “2001: A Space Odyssey” so…. That’s saying something.
Patrick quizzes us on a fantasy novel he is reading.  It sounds like a lot of things we have read before.
Played:
Andrew and Chris report “Destiny‘s” December Update. Sparrow Racing League and the future of “Destiny” being free to play events rather than huge DLCs.
Andrew has purchased Halo 5 Xbox On but  has yet to hook it up.  He has been BUSY!
Patrick is playing “Fallout 4” and streaming on Twitch.  He dies a lot.  It’s pretty awesome.

Trivia:
In “Episode VI: Return of The Jedi“, Yoda, on his death bed, describes the Dark Side of the Force in 3 words. What are those words?
The Boys fail, rather terribly.

Forty One:Baby Batman is a Bad Idea

SIZE

Recorded on September 13, 2015

Discussion:

We discuss the new television shows premiering next month.

“Supergirl” seems like it will be great girl power tv and we hope gets the vibe right. Melissa Benoist gets the Not Ugly Award.

All are excited for “Arrow“, “Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow“

We continue to lament how badly “Gotham” gets it wrong. On all levels.

Seen:

Andrew has restarted “Star Trek Voyager”. Patrick approves and agrees it has a very different vibe than other Star Trek shows.

Christopher has dived into “Longmire“ season 4 on Netflix. “Strike Back” is in it’s final season and continues to be top fun. And he is pleased both it’s leads have found gigs on NBC shows this season

Patrick actually pays money and spends time to see “Fantastic Four” It’s terrible. The movie is disjointed filmmaking. Not even solid performances can save it.
Read:

Andrew completes “Caliban’s War” in less than seven days. Chris and Andrew refrain from in depth discussion as Patrick is only half way through. Andrew has started “The Martian” and will finish it by the time the movie of the same name is released.

Christopher sings the praises of the “Star Wars”. “Star Wars: Vader” continues to be the strongest story line. He is on Book five of the Expanse “Nemesis Games“.

Patrick reads “Caliban’s War” He feels weird being the only not done yet.

Played:

Andrew and Patrick play “Castle Panic” and drink beers with Legendary Listener, Adria and Patrick’s Partners-in-Crimer when Andrew and Adria visited Portland last week.

Andrew discuss Destiny 2.0

Chris plays “Diablo III“, he has created a season 4 character. And is playing older characters as well. He, of course, continues with “Rocket League“.

Patrick plays “Castle Panic“ and gets drunks with Andrew in Portland. He downloads and plays Dungeon Quest a fun mobile app game for Apple and Android.

Trivia:

When Anakin is brought before the Jedi counsel in “The Phantom Menace” he is asked to divine certain images from a computer screen. What are the four images he divines in the correct order?

The Boys have no idea.

Episode Thirty Nine: We turn our Star Wars up to 11.

Recorded 8-13-2015

Discussion:

New photos of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” released in Entertainment Weekly prompt an enthusiastic discussion. It may not be possible for us to be more excited for this movie.

Seen:

Christopher is enjoying “Dark Matter”. Solid Sci-Fi on the SyFy Channel.

“True Detective” Season 2 wraps up and is quite disappointing. Season 1 is far more effective.

All have seen “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation”. All find it well made action movie fun.. Andrew and Christopher are particularly impressed with Rebecca Ferguson‘s Ilsa Faust. She every bit an equal to Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.

Patrick saw “Terminator Genisys”.  It is so so so bad.   Patrick doesn’t want any more Terminator movies with this cast.

Read:

Patrick has listened to Book 2 of “the Dresden Files”  He blasted through it in 3 days!  Jim Butcher writes very well. All agree to pick up his new “Steam Punk” series starting up in a few weeks.

Andrew is deep in “Leviathan Wakes”. He just reached a massively important part of the novel and he felt something pop in his brain.

Chris reads lots of things, as is his way. In particular, he recommends “The Player of Games” by Ian M. Banks

Played:

Chris plays “Rocket League” The new DLC appears to only add to the fun. He is playing multiple matches in multiple game modes.

Andrew reports on the changes coming to “Destiny” with the DLC “The Taken King”. The leveling system is dramatically changing and we all start yelling at each other. Mostly Andrew yells at Patrick. It’s a good honest, heated discussion. It’s what we are all about.

Trivia:

Star Wars hype continues.

How many horns are on Darth Maul’s head? It’s a truly obscure question and the Boys react accordingly.

Watch it and you’ll understand

Discussion:

Trailer’s Galore!

We dissect, discuss, examine, hammer and bludgeon four different newly released trailers. “Terminator Genisys”, “Ant Man” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”

Seen:

Christopher and Andrew are current with “Arrow” and “The Flash”. “The Flash” continues to impress. “Arrow” needs to be a superhero show again.

Christopher and Andrew insist Patrick binge-watch “Daredevil” on Netflix. It is pitch perfect. Andrew says that a lot

Patrick is in full Trek mode. He has finished “Star Trek: Voyager” and has moved onto “Star Trek: Enterprise” He prefers the latter. Jolene Blalock gets special recognition this week.

Read:

Patrick finishes “Leviathan Wakes” and has restarted “Ready Player One“, he promises to finish “Batman Eternal”

Christopher has started “Caliban’s War“, calls it outstanding. He further asserts “Darth Vader” is best of Star Wars comics Marvel has released.

Andrew and Christopher have both finished “Batman Eternal”. Andrew is current with “Thor” and is enamored with the book on multiple levels. He doesn’t even care who the female Thor will turn out to be.

Played:

Andrew talks “Destiny” and the announcement of House of Wolves expansion dropping on 5/19/15.

Christopher and Diablo III continue their love affair.

Patrick has started up “Dragon Age Inquisition” once again and he is now playing a Ranger. It scratches his RPG itch. He continues his table top mission and plays the card game “Smash Up“. It allows for Ninja Unicorns. Christopher and Andrew give their nods of approval.

Trivia:

Boys are challenged to guess the total number of pages in “A Song of Ice and Fire” One of them actually comes close. The number is huge.
